What Dae collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how to get it removed — in plain language.

1. Who we are

Dae operates askdae.com and the Dae answer-engine service (the Service). For any question about this policy, or to exercise a right described below, email privacy@askdae.com.

Important role split: for the questions your visitors ask, the lead forms on your hub, and the content published under your workspace, you (the workspace owner) are the data controller and Dae acts solely as your data processor, processing that data only on your documented instructions. For our own customer accounts, billing and marketing, Dae is the controller.

2. Information we collect

Account data: the name, email address, phone number, company name and website submitted when requesting an invite or creating a workspace, plus billing records.

Customer content: the pages, documents, product data, facts and brand assets you ask Dae to crawl or upload, together with the answers generated from them.

Visitor questions: the text of questions typed into a Dae search bar, stored so the workspace owner can see what people ask. The Service does not request visitor names, emails or accounts.

Lead submissions: where a workspace owner enables a lead form, whatever the visitor enters into it is stored for that workspace owner. Lead forms are fully configured by the workspace owner, who controls which fields are collected and is responsible for the lawfulness of collecting them.

Technical data: standard server logs including IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps, used for security, abuse prevention, plan enforcement and the acknowledgement records workspace owners choose to require.

2A. Our role as processor — your role as controller

Dae is a business-to-business platform. For visitor questions, lead submissions and acknowledgement records collected through a workspace, the workspace owner is the data controller and Dae is the data processor. We process that data only on the workspace owner's documented instructions — set out in the terms of service and the owner's in-product configuration — and for no independent purpose.

We do not sell visitor data, do not use it to train third-party foundation models, and do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Workspace owners are responsible for their own privacy notices, consents, cookie compliance and responses to visitor rights requests. Dae provides self-service deletion tools and will reasonably assist owners in honouring such requests at their direction. Our terms of service include data-processing terms that function as the parties' data processing addendum; enterprise customers may request a signed DPA by emailing privacy@askdae.com.

3. How we use information

To provide the Service: crawl your sources, draft answers, publish approved answers, deliver lead notifications and run your daily question plan.

To secure and enforce: monitor errors, block abuse, enforce plan limits, host guards and moderation rules.

To communicate: reply to your messages and send service notices. Marketing emails can be opted out of at any time.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer content to train third-party foundation models.

4. Sub-processors and third parties

The Service runs on infrastructure and AI providers acting as sub-processors, including cloud hosting, a managed database, transactional email and large language model providers used to draft and moderate answers. Each processes data only as needed to deliver the Service.

Where you embed the Service on your own domain (via proxy or script), the technical terms and privacy practices of your own hosting and DNS providers also apply; Dae is not responsible for their handling of data.

5. Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your workspace is active; customer content until you delete it or close the workspace. After closure, remaining data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days, except where law or legitimate business records require longer retention (for example billing and tax records).

You can delete individual sources, answers, questions, leads and products from the workspace at any time.

6. Your rights — and your visitors' rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Email privacy@askdae.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Because workspace owners control visitor data, visitors should direct access, correction or deletion requests to the relevant website owner. We will reasonably assist workspace owners in honouring such requests, at their direction.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and per-workspace database policies prevent one customer from reading another's data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; you use the Service at your own risk, subject to the limitations in the terms of service.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, secure forms and remember visitor acknowledgements. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels on askdae.com.

9. Children

The Service is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

10. International transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our sub-processors operate. By using the Service you consent to those transfers, subject to the safeguards described in this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this page at any time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Where a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify workspace owners in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
